NPPL NZ National Final - 2009
Congratulations to Alan Woolsten – the 2009 NPPL National Tournament Winner. Congratulations to Alan all the way from Temuka for winning the 2009 Nationals Final held in Auckland at the weekend. The event surpassed our expectations with good numbers (284 players in total) turning up. A special Thank you to all the players from the South Island Regions who made the effort to travel to Auckland for the weekend at substantial cost and that is appreciated.
We do apologise for the inconvenience to players for not having a microphone available on the day as the venue let us down with little notice of its availability but we coped the best we could. I am sure everyone enjoyed the food that was provided complimentary for the players that kept the wolves at bay during the long day and helped minimise that ill feeling the morning after!
For those that couldn’t attend the top 8 results were as follows:
1st Alan Woolsten -Temuka
2nd Liam Peters - Auckland
3rd Roy Bryant - South Island
4th Daniel Challenger - Christchurch
5th Carol Ball - Christchurch
6th Colin Thomson - Northland
7th Ron Ball - Christchurch
8th Leonardo Hilig - Auckland
As you can see there is a good spread of winners throughout NZ so as you can imagine the competition was fierce.
Once again congratulations to the prize winners and thank you all for your attendance.
Please note that due to NPPL's responsibility to keep in line with correct and auditable accounting procedures - NPPL will be paying all cash owed to prize winners by direct credit into the relevant player's account.
Please give your bank details to the host at the game. Please also note that NPPL reserves the right to take up to 14 days from the date of the event to complete these payments.
Thanks for playing NPPL.

All players should always carry their ID on them. You are entering a licensed venue and they have the right to check ID and refuse you entry if you do not have it on you. So you can enjoy your poker without worrying about being mistaken for a 13 year old, please bring your ID to every game.
Please login and update your profile details to ensure you have the correct mailing address, phone number and email address on your account. This is what we may have to use to contact you in regards to Regional Final entry so if you do not have your details updated and cannot make it to a weekly event, you may miss out on your entry!!
Cheating will not be tolerated. We have now adopted a zero tolerance attitude towards cheating in any manner, including collusion, coaching, mechanics, chip scamming, chip dumping, etc. Any player suspected of cheating will be warned, and any player caught cheating will be ejected from the tournament with the possibility of a ban from our games entirely.
Cheating is not part of poker and is considered the most heinous offense in a game. We won't hammer your fingers off like they do in Vegas, but we sure won't let you come back!!
